An argument breaks out among 6 men; 1 ends up dead In the early morning hours of August 29, 2004, a violent altercation shattered the peace at the Holy Oak apartments in Midvale, Utah, leaving one man dead. Juan Pedro Flores, a 38-year-old Hispanic male, was in his apartment at 7883 S. Main Street when a dispute erupted between him and five other men. At the time of his death, Flores, who was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, was a father of two and worked as a general contractor.
He was also known by the aliases Jesus Holguin and Jesus Jaime Cazares.
Witnesses reported hearing a heated argument coming from the apartment shortly before 1:00 a.m., which was tragically punctuated by the sound of a gunshot. In the immediate aftermath, the five men involved in the confrontation were seen fleeing the residence on foot, disappearing into the night. The motive for the altercation and the identities of the suspects remain unknown. The case is still considered an unsolved homicide.
Despite being gravely wounded, Juan Pedro Flores managed to stumble from his apartment out onto the balcony before he collapsed. Emergency paramedics arrived at the scene and he was quickly flown by Life Flight to a nearby hospital. Tragically, the single gunshot wound he sustained proved to be fatal, and he did not survive his injuries. The investigation into his death is ongoing, with law enforcement seeking any information that could lead to the arrest of the individuals responsible.
