On a summer night in Taylorsville, Utah, a young Hispanic man named Luis Miguel Chavez-Gonzales, aged 21, was riding as a passenger in a two-door maroon Thunderbird with a friend. It was August 27, 2005, and they were traveling southbound on Redwood Road. Suddenly, another vehicle pulled up alongside them. Gunshots shattered the night, and a bullet struck Luis in the head.
