Do you know who murdered Adam? On May 17, 1979, the body of 14-year-old Adam Ashley was discovered on the shores of Torrey Pines State Beach in San Diego, California. A bicyclist riding along the beach that morning found Ashley's lifeless body just above the surf, about half a mile south of Carmel Valley Road. He had been reported missing by his foster father, Gene Requa, the day before. Adam had last been seen heading to the beach for a swim.
His autopsy revealed that he died from blunt force trauma to the head, confirming his death as a homicide.
Adam Ashley had been living in foster care at the time of his death, and his murder remains unsolved to this day. Despite numerous efforts from his family and law enforcement to find new leads, the case has remained cold for over 40 years. Adam's death was particularly devastating for his twin brother, Marc, and older sister, Terri.
