On a summer evening in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 53-year-old Tony Maurice Banks was brought to a violent and tragic end. On July 15, 2009, neighbors were startled by the sound of gunshots emanating from Banks's residence. When police arrived at his home, they discovered the African-American male had been fatally shot. The scene within the house suggested a struggle and a violent intrusion.
