In the pre-dawn hours of a Friday in late March, the life of 24-year-old Anwar Martin, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire in Memphis, Tennessee. On March 22, 2013, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Martin was fatally shot at the Villages at Cypresswood Apartments located on Horn Lake Road.
