In the spring of 2016, the life of a Memphis man was tragically cut short. Darnell Killebrew, a 60-year-old male, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. His death was the result of a shooting that occurred in the 800 block of Williams in Memphis, Tennessee.
Authorities investigating the incident determined that Killebrew was an unintended victim. A young man, 20-year-old Alfonso Selmon, was engaged in a gunfight with another individual.
During the exchange of fire, a stray bullet from Selmon's weapon struck and fatally wounded Killebrew.
Following an investigation into the shooting, police arrested Alfonso Selmon. He was subsequently charged with reckless homicide in connection with Darnell Killebrew's death. Selmon was booked into the Shelby County Jail late on a Thursday night following the incident. At the time of his booking, a bond had not yet been set.
