On July 12, 2016, Brandon Byers, age 30, was shot and killed outside his home in Memphis, Tennessee. Byers and his wife returned to their residence, only to discover burglars inside. When Byers confronted the suspects, three men and a getaway driver, he was shot by one of them. The burglars fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla, carrying stolen items from the home.
