On a Thursday evening, November 16, 2017, a Nashville man named Robert Newsom, at the age of 39, had just returned to his home on Bridgepoint Drive after picking up a pizza for his family. As he arrived at his residence at approximately 7:00 pm, he was confronted in the street and tragically shot multiple times. Responding officers found him with gunshot wounds to his leg and stomach. Despite the immediate response, Newsom succumbed to his injuries.
