On November 10, 2007, Aucy Andrews, a 35-year-old resident of the Hill District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot by a police officer. The incident began when police received a call around 4:45 p.m. regarding a fight near Fifth Avenue and Van Braam Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene where a 32-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck. The victim and his fiancée claimed that Andrews was responsible for the stabbing.
