Daniel Hawkins, a 17-year-old from East Liberty, Pittsburgh, was tragically killed on July 19, 2010, during a robbery attempt. According to reports, Hawkins and another individual attempted to rob a vehicle on North St. Clair and Hays Streets. Emerging from between two homes, they approached the vehicle, and in the ensuing confrontation, gunfire was exchanged. Hawkins was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
