In the fall of 2010, the body of 18-year-old Fabian Johnson was discovered in Tacony Creek Park in Philadelphia. A group of children playing in the park on a Saturday afternoon made the grim find. Johnson, a resident of the Feltonville neighborhood, lived on Rorer Street, not far from where his body was located.
An investigation into his death determined that he had been shot in the back of the head in what was described by police as an execution-style killing.
At the time his body was identified, investigators were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the approximate time of his death. Authorities did not immediately disclose a motive for the slaying.
In the initial days of the investigation, the Philadelphia police had not made any arrests in connection with the shooting of Fabian Johnson. The case was included in the city's list of homicides for 2010. Despite the violent nature of his death, there have been no subsequent public announcements regarding any suspects or arrests in the years that have followed, and the case remains unresolved.
