On March 21, 2011, Donnell Neuswan, a 21-year-old male from Philadelphia, was fatally shot inside a cellphone store on Washington Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 6:59 p.m. when two men entered the store, Cellular Inc., and shot Neuswan multiple times in the chest. The assailants fled the scene immediately, and Neuswan was pronounced dead shortly after. There was no known altercation leading up to the shooting, and investigators struggled to determine the motive behind the attack.
