Ronique Felton, a 21-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was killed in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 31, 2014. Just before 1:00 a.m., Philadelphia Police officers were called to the 600 block of Spring Garden Street, where they found Ronique lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. The scene was urgent and chaotic enough that officers did not wait for an ambulance; they placed him into a patrol vehicle and rushed him to Hahnemann University Hospital.
