On the night of August 1, 2014, Jamil Taylor, a 30-year-old Philadelphia resident, was shot multiple times on the 800 block of South 13th Street. Philadelphia Police responded to the incident at approximately 11:42 p.m. and discovered Jamil with severe gunshot wounds to his chest. Emergency responders rushed him to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight, at 12:20 a.m. on August 2, 2014.
