In the early morning hours of Monday, August 1, 2016, the life of 26-year-old Chavez Lane was tragically cut short on the streets of Philadelphia. A Black male, Lane was discovered by Philadelphia Police officers at approximately 2:28 a.m. on the 2100 block of West Montgomery Avenue. He was lying in the street, having sustained a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed that Chavez Lane had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
At the time of his death, Lane was a resident of the 2100 block of North 17th Street in Philadelphia.
