In the early morning hours of Monday, August 1, 2016, the life of 26-year-old Chavez Lane was tragically cut short on the streets of Philadelphia. A Black male, Lane was discovered by Philadelphia Police officers at approximately 2:28 a.m. on the 2100 block of West Montgomery Avenue. He was lying in the street, having sustained a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed that Chavez Lane had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. At the time
