In the late summer evening of Monday, September 4, 2016, a mother in the East Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia made a devastating discovery. In the basement of their home on the 8300 block of Williams Avenue, she found her 29-year-old son, Ernest Jones, who had been shot in the head.
