In the early morning hours of October 11, 2014, a tragic event unfolded on the 1600 block of North 26th Street in Philadelphia. Twenty-eight-year-old Robert Williams, a Black male, was sitting inside a red Nissan when gunfire shattered the pre-dawn quiet at approximately 12:27 a.m. Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene to find Williams suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
Urgently, the officers transported Williams to Temple University Hospital. Despite the immediate medical attention, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff shortly after his arrival. Another individual, a 19-year-old female, was also wounded in the shooting. She was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Residing on Pennsgrove Street in Philadelphia, Robert Williams's life was cut short in an act of violence that has yet to be solved. The Philadelphia Police Department has been investigating the double shooting, but no arrests have been made in the case. Detectives continue to seek information from the public that might lead to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for this unsolved homicide.
