On October 28, 2014, 47-year-old Alex Smith was shot in Philadelphia's Kingsessing neighborhood. Police responded to reports of a shooting at around 8:00 a.m. and found Smith on the 2000 block of South 59th Street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.
