Zaire Overton, a 19-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was shot and killed on October 14, 2015. At approximately 9:33 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 600 block of Ritner Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Zaire with gunshot wounds to both his head and his leg. Medical personnel arrived shortly thereafter but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at 9:47 p.m.
Two additional victims, a 25-year-old and a 37-year-old Asian male, were also shot during the incident. Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have continued their investigation, urging anyone with information to come forward. Zaire Overton lived on the 2600 block of South Marshall Street, and his tragic death remains unsolved, with detectives hoping to gather more information from potential witnesses to bring those responsible to justice.
