On the evening of November 30, 2015, a violent altercation on the 2900 block of Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood ended in the tragic death of 25-year-old Malcolm Claiborne. The Black male was with a 22-year-old friend when a heated argument with another individual escalated. The unidentified person pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking both Claiborne and his companion.
Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:20 p.m.
to find Claiborne suffering from several gunshot wounds to his neck and back. He was immediately transported to Temple University Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Malcolm Claiborne was pronounced dead at 8:47 p.m. that same evening. His friend, who had been shot in the chest, was also rushed to the hospital and was listed in critical condition.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, but authorities have not yet made any arrests in the case. The murder of Malcolm Claiborne remains unsolved, and the Philadelphia Police Department continues to urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. Detectives are hopeful that new leads will help them bring justice to Claiborne and his family.
