On Saturday, March 26, 2016, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Philadelphia Police Officers responded to the 1500 block of North 19th Street and discovered Edward Jefferson, a 42-year-old Black male, lying face down in a vacant lot. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency medical personnel transported him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that morning. Edward Jefferson resided on the 1600 block of Juniata Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
