In the early morning hours of June 11, 2016, a resident of Philadelphia, 27-year-old Stephan Allen, a Black male, was fatally shot in an attack that remains unsolved. The incident occurred at approximately 2:03 a.m. on the 6100 block of Bayton Street. Philadelphia Police officers responded to a report and discovered Allen in the driver's seat of his 2015 Chrysler, suffering from a gunshot wound to his left side. Despite the arrival of medical personnel, his injuries proved to be fatal.
At the time of the shooting, Allen was not alone; a female passenger was in the vehicle with him. The investigation determined that an unknown Black male approached the car, knocked on the window, and then opened fire with a handgun. After firing the weapon and mortally wounding Allen, the suspect fled the scene before police could arrive.
Stephan Allen resided on the 4600 block of Kraydor Street in Philadelphia. As of now, his murder is one of the city's many unsolved homicides. Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The case remains open, and the Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public that could lead to an arrest and bring closure to Allen's family.
