Anna Maciejewska, a 43-year-old resident of Malvern, Pennsylvania, was last seen on April 10, 2017. She was reported missing on April 12, 2017, by her husband, Allen Gould, after she failed to return home from work. Anna, a native of Poland, was known to be an attentive employee at Voya Financial, but she did not show up to work for several days prior to her disappearance, which prompted her employer to initiate a welfare check. Her navy blue 2011 Audi A4 was later found abandoned near a walking trail in the Charlestown Meadows area on May 8, 2017, but no other significant clues were found in the vicinity.
Anna’s case quickly raised suspicions due to several unusual occurrences before her disappearance. On March 29, she texted her parents, informing them that she would be unable to visit Poland as originally planned. This message was followed by a birthday text to her father the next day, which included language mistakes unusual for Anna, who was fluent in Polish. Shortly before she vanished, Anna's mother repeatedly tried to contact her but was only able to speak with Allen, who stated that Anna was sick and unable to take calls. Allen's later report of her disappearance came after he told her family that he had not seen her for two days.
The police investigation initially involved cooperation from her husband, but Allen Gould soon hired an attorney and ceased communication with authorities. Although Gould remains a person of interest, no charges have been brought, and foul play is suspected in the case.
