On June 5, 1996, 78-year-old Myrtle Childs was found murdered in her home at 222 E. 30th Street North in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her neighbors became concerned when they noticed her mail was piling up, prompting her family to visit and check on her. They discovered the back door to her converted garage bedroom had been kicked in, and Myrtle was found lying facedown on the floor.
