On a summer day in Oklahoma City, a violent encounter on July 5, 2007, irrevocably altered the course of a young man's life. David Herrod Sanroman, a 31-year-old male of Mexican and Muscogee Creek heritage, was found shot outside a residence in the city. The initial attack did not immediately claim his life, but it marked the beginning of a long and arduous battle for survival. For over two years, he endured the severe injuries inflicted upon him, a testament to his will to live.
