In the spring of 2007, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace near the Will Rogers Courts in Oklahoma City, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Eugene Drake, a 27-year-old African-American male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on May 26th. Despite the urgent response of emergency services, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The violent nature of his death sent ripples of concern through the community.
