On the evening of December 4, 2012, thirty-year-old Maegin Colleen Gravitt was visiting a friend at the Drover's Inn in Oklahoma City. At approximately 9:15 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night. Police were called to the scene and discovered Maegin in room 215 with gunshot wounds. Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital, the young mother, sister, and daughter ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation revealed that the shots were fired from outside the motel.
While two other rooms were struck by bullets, Maegin was tragically the only person injured. Witnesses reported seeing the assailant flee the scene in a white Oldsmobile, heading south on I-35. It is believed that Maegin was an innocent victim, simply in the wrong place at the wrong time during what authorities suspect was a drive-by shooting.
Her death was marked as the city's 91st homicide of that year. Despite the years that have passed since the incident, her case has grown cold. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Maegin Gravitt, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Her family continues to seek justice for her untimely death.
