On June 1, 2014, Mayhue Smith, age 55, was critically wounded in a stabbing incident in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The attack left Smith in critical condition, and he was subsequently transferred to a long-term care facility in Inola. Despite receiving medical attention, Smith succumbed to his injuries several months later, on October 3, 2014. This case was added to Tulsa's homicide statistics for 2014, making it one of the 53 homicides reported that year.
