On May 24, 2016, Pedro Banuelas, age 45, was shot and killed in his home on Shartel Avenue in southwest Oklahoma City. The incident also critically injured his 14-year-old son, Ricardo Banuelas. The father and son were found lying in the home by a family member. Both victims were rushed to the hospital, but Pedro was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, while Ricardo also succumbed to his injuries later.
