On August 7, 2016, 16-year-old Dazmeontae Sayles was tragically shot and killed at his family's home in northeast Oklahoma City. The incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. when someone knocked on the door of their apartment in the 400 block of NE 115th Street. Sayles went to answer the door, and as he approached, shots were fired through the door and windows. He was struck by multiple bullets and later died at the hospital.
