Edward Reese and his wife, Tammy, were brutally murdered between February 21 and February 23, 1981, at their residence on Trey Villa Boulevard in Huber Heights, Ohio. The circumstances surrounding their deaths were particularly disturbing, as Tammy was found bound and strangled, while Edward had been bound and beaten to death. This double homicide was shocking to the community, and while Edward Reese was reported to have had some involvement in the drug trade, the exact motives behind their
