On October 5, 1982, 26-year-old Douglas Berry was fatally shot outside his home on Linwood Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred as Berry was reportedly leaving his residence to go to work. Witnesses reported seeing Berry shot in the chest, and emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
