Kerry Lynn Melnick, a 24-year-old resident of Lansing, Ohio, was tragically found dead on August 2, 1983. Her body was discovered by two railroad workers in a small stream behind the former Valley Packing facility in Belmont County. An autopsy performed by Coroner Thomas Ring indicated that she died from massive internal bleeding caused by blunt force trauma to her abdomen.
