On September 21, 2008, 21-year-old Javier Reyes was shot while driving his vehicle in San Diego’s Linda Vista neighborhood. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when an unidentified shooter on foot fired into Reyes' truck as he drove slowly down an alley near Ulric Street. After being shot, Reyes lost control of his vehicle, colliding with another truck. He was rushed to a trauma center but succumbed to his injuries.
