Do you know who murdered Trinidad?
On March 21, 1973, Trinidad Saucedo, a well-known figure in San Diego’s East Village community, was found murdered in his downtown hotel room. Saucedo, who was disabled and used a prosthetic leg, was known for his outgoing personality and frequent visits to local bars like Jesse James and Lucky Lady. He was last seen the night before his death, heavily intoxicated and in the company of two individuals—a white woman in her fifties and a black man. Witnesses reported hearing the woman repeatedly asking him for money.
The following morning, Saucedo was discovered strangled to death, with robbery suspected as the motive since all the cash he was known to carry was missing from his room. Despite initial investigations, this case remains unsolved, and authorities are still seeking tips to bring closure to Saucedo’s murder.
