William Stormo was found dead in his San Diego apartment on February 8, 2001. On the morning of the incident, an anonymous 911 call led officers to his residence on Broadway Street. When police arrived, they found Stormo on the living room floor, and it appeared that his apartment had been ransacked, with several items missing. The autopsy concluded that Stormo had been strangled, indicating foul play, and evidence at the scene suggested a struggle had occurred prior to his death.
