Joan Palacio, a 24-year-old woman from Toledo, Ohio, was found dead on September 15, 2002. Her body was discovered in a vacant lot behind 966 Oak Street in Toledo, Lucas County. Authorities responded to the scene after a report of a body found on the ground. Upon arrival, they determined that Joan had died as a result of blunt trauma and strangulation. It appeared that she had been placed at the scene after her death.
