On August 7, 2005, the body of 21-year-old Andrea Flenoury was found submerged in a canal along the Ohio & Erie Canal towpath in Akron, Ohio. Her death was particularly tragic as she was six weeks pregnant at the time. Andrea had been bound in chains, and an autopsy revealed that she had been strangled. The exact circumstances of her death remain a mystery, and investigators believe that she was likely killed either late on August 6 or early in the morning on August 7.

Andrea was known to have been involved in some of Akron's seediest nightlife, as she had worked as an exotic dancer. This aspect of her life, combined with the grim nature of her death, has led to speculation and suspicions, though no solid leads have emerged. Andrea’s death may also be connected to another unsolved homicide from April 2005, in which Donna Pittinger, another woman with a similar lifestyle, was found floating in the Tuscarawas River. Despite similarities between the two cases, authorities have not officially linked them, and both cases remain unresolved.
The Akron Police Department continues to investigate the case and is seeking any information that may provide answers about who was responsible for Andrea's murder.
