On January 26, 2006, 64-year-old Black male David Garrett was found unresponsive in his living room at 967 Nevin Street in Akron, Ohio, around 5:30 a.m. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The Akron Police Department responded to the scene, and the case was classified as a homicide.
