On July 8, 2018, Nedria Isaac, a 45-year-old woman from Sacramento, California, was found unresponsive near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road. She had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The discovery was made just after midnight when a driver led California Highway Patrol officers to the location. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department quickly identified Joseph Sandoval, a 33-year-old man, as a person of interest in the case.
