On February 28, 2022, a tragic incident occurred in Sacramento, California, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Samia Mora Gutierrez, along with her two younger sisters, Samantha and Samarah, and their court-appointed chaperone, Nathaniel Kong. The perpetrator of this horrific act was their father, David Fidel Mora Rojas.
