On August 30, 2008, Eric Helm, a 35-year-old resident of Akron, Ohio, was shot and killed in his home. The incident took place shortly before 10:00 p.m. at 136 Bachtel Avenue in Summit County. An unknown assailant fired shots through Helm's front door, striking him fatally. The shooting occurred suddenly, and no suspect has been identified since the incident.
