Ronald Willis Jr., a 15-year-old African American boy from Akron, Ohio, tragically lost his life on October 21, 2020. He was shot multiple times outside a duplex in the 1400 block of Seward Avenue around 4:45 p.m. Despite being rushed to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 5:20 p.m. The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The Akron Police Department launched an
investigation into Ronald's death but have yet to identify any suspects. The community was deeply shaken by the incident, which occurred in broad daylight and added to the already high number of homicides in Akron that year. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
As of now, there have been no arrests or suspects named in connection with Ronald Willis Jr.'s murder.
