On the night of May 6, 2006, Omar L. Dawood, age 22, was fatally shot in Akron, Ohio. The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on W. Miller Avenue, where Dawood was standing in the street when an unknown assailant or assailants drove by and opened fire. The shots were fired from a moving vehicle, and Dawood sustained critical injuries as a result. Emergency services transported him to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries soon after.
