A man dies of a gunshot room in his living room
On October 26, 2012, Barry Davis Jr., also known by his nickname "Divine Allah," was fatally shot in Springfield, Ohio. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at a residence located at 118 South Race Street. Around 1:30 a.m., Springfield police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots in the area. Upon arriving, officers found Barry Davis Jr., 38, with multiple gunshot wounds in the living room of the house. He was initially transported by medics to Springfield Regional Medical Center and later flown by helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Neighbors reported hearing approximately five gunshots and seeing a dark-colored SUV leaving the alley without its headlights on shortly after the incident. Some witnesses suggested that Barry might have been visiting a relative who lived at the address when he was shot. Despite Barry’s past history of drug-related arrests, Springfield Police did not immediately determine whether his death was connected to prior activity or provide any information about potential suspects.
