On the night of September 30, 2013, 47-year-old Lynne Smith was found fatally shot at her residence on the 5600 block of Roche Drive in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred at around 11:09 p.m. when patrol officers, who were already in the area due to an unrelated situation, heard gunshots. Shortly thereafter, officers were flagged down and directed to an apartment where Lynne Smith was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
