Michael Haire, a 43-year-old man, was last seen on June 19, 1993, in Bonner County, Idaho. After a heated argument with his wife, Haire left his home and never returned. Despite extensive investigations, he has not been heard from since, and his case has been classified as an endangered missing person case with suspected foul play.
Shortly after his disappearance, an informant claimed that Haire had been shot and his body cremated in a kiln due to his knowledge of a drug operation.
This led investigators to focus on Haire's stepson, James Montz, who became the prime suspect in his presumed murder. Montz was arrested on unrelated charges in 1994 after authorities discovered a marijuana-growing operation on his property, including a large kiln. Despite searching the kiln, no human remains were found. Montz, facing prison time, fled before his sentencing in 1995 and has been missing ever since.
