On September 24, 2016, at approximately 3:41 a.m., Columbus Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1478 Genessee Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds in front of the address. One of the victims, identified as Donavon Williams, a 24-year-old Black male, was critically injured.
Emergency medical personnel from the Columbus Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced him deceased at 4:11 a.m.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have continued their investigation into the case. Donavon Williams, a young Black male, was among several homicide victims in Columbus during September 2016. His death was recorded as an unsolved homicide, and law enforcement officials have sought information from the public to help identify any suspects or leads in the case.
Williams, a 24-year-old Black male, was remembered by his family and friends as a beloved individual. His obituary noted that he was survived by his parents, siblings, extended family members, and a longtime companion. His funeral services were held at Higher Ground AAA in Columbus, Ohio, with interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
Despite efforts by law enforcement, no arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting of Donavon Williams, a 24-year-old Black male. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information about the case to come forward to assist in solving the crime and bringing justice to his family.
