On September 24, 2016, at approximately 3:41 a.m., Columbus Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1478 Genessee Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds in front of the address. One of the victims, identified as Donavon Williams, a 24-year-old Black male, was critically injured. Emergency medical personnel from the Columbus Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced him deceased at 4:11 a.m.
