Alex Gines, a 23-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on May 17, 2014, in East Los Angeles. The incident occurred in the 900 block of South Kern Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Gines was walking along Kern Avenue when he was approached by an unknown gunman who opened fire.
