Anecia Kay Thacker was a deeply loving and determined woman with a presence that people remembered. Born and raised in the Austin, Texas, area, the 37-year-old female was known for her strong personality, her humor, and a heart of gold. Anecia attended Del Valle High School and grew into a resilient woman who cherished her family, especially children. She was a mother to two daughters, Sahana Damion and Serenity Thacker, and was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt.

On the morning of September 23, 2026, the manager of the Parkside Crossing Apartments in the 3400 block of Shoreline Drive went to serve a writ. He found an apartment door ajar and, after getting no response, pushed it open. Inside, he discovered a body and immediately called 911. When deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office arrived around 8:45 a.m., they found two women deceased from gunshot wounds. They were identified as Anecia Thacker and Lamonica Webb, age 32. One victim was found near the entryway and the other in the dining area.

Because handguns were found near both women, investigators initially treated the case as a possible murder-suicide. However, after obtaining a search warrant, detectives and crime scene specialists conducted a full examination of the apartment. By the next day, a comparison of autopsy results, ballistic evidence, and other information gathered at the scene led authorities to reclassify the case as a double homicide.

The investigation quickly led to a person of interest. Detectives learned that the two women, who were in a relationship, sometimes arranged paid sexual encounters through an online app. Investigators traced an advertisement to a phone number and uncovered messages with a number linked to Michael Robinson Jr., 24, of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Deputies located Robinson’s vehicle, initiated a traffic stop, and he voluntarily agreed to give a statement.

On September 25, 2026, just two days after the women were found, Michael Robinson Jr. was arrested and charged with capital murder. According to an arrest affidavit, Robinson told investigators he went to the apartment early on September 21 after answering an online ad and paid $120 for a sexual encounter. He claimed that Thacker pointed a gun at him, and during a struggle, he took it from her. Robinson stated that Webb then appeared with another handgun. He alleged that after he placed Thacker’s gun on a counter, she picked it up and pointed it at him again, at which point he fired his own gun multiple times before fleeing. He told detectives he did not call for help because his phone had been stolen.

As of late September 2026, Robinson had been charged in the deaths of Anecia Thacker and Lamonica Webb, and the case was entering the court system.
